Kabuki actor Nakamura Hashinosuke and former Nogizaka46 member and actress Noujo Ami will appear on the one-hour special of the long-running variety show "Shinkon-san Irasshai!" (ABC TV/TV Asahi network, Sundays at 12:55 PM) airing on June 14th.
The two met in 2021 on the musical "The Poe Clan." Hashinosuke and Nojo were both so focused on their first musical appearances that they barely spoke to each other for the first two months. However, they grew closer after being invited by a fellow cast member, and their relationship began. A "super cute homemade character bento box with a letter" that Nojo made for the busy Hashinosuke was a major factor in his decision to marry her.
His mother, Hiroko Mita, who herself went from being an idol to the wife of a kabuki actor, informed her parents two days before Hashinosuke proposed in Hawaii. His father, Shikan, was overjoyed, but Mita gave an unexpected reply: "It's okay if he refuses. We're here for you." The true meaning behind her words was revealed in the studio.
Nojo revealed that Hashinosuke is "like a completely different person" when he's with his wife, calling him "Kuni-chan" at home and becoming very clingy. He repeatedly asks, "Do you like me?" and this is shown in a reenactment video titled "Newlywed Couple Theater - Kuni-chan's Adorable Side."
Furthermore, messages were received from senior figures in the Kabuki world, Nakamura Yonekichi and Onoe Ukon, revealing Hashinosuke's past as a "closet otaku" who had Nojo's calendar displayed in his dressing room, and a funny incident where his doting affection for his wife was spread around the dressing room by his younger brother, Fukunosuke.
After the recording, Hashinosuke commented, "I'm so excited to see how it turns out on air! It was a fun recording session, and the two of them really drew out a lot of interesting stories from me." Nojo reflected, "The atmosphere was so warm, so I'm worried I might have said something I shouldn't have... We had some mutual friends and Kabuki actors around the same age as Hashinosuke appear on the show, and we got lots of loving comments from various perspectives."
