A special program focusing on "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN," Japan's largest music festival which started last year, titled "J-POP Resonating Around the World 2026 ~MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN & Zipangu Special~," will be broadcast on NHK General on June 4th at 10 PM. The program will explore how Japanese music, or J-POP, is currently resonating around the world. In addition to testimonies from overseas music industry professionals, it will also feature "Zipangu," a music festival in Los Angeles featuring only Japanese artists that captivated 20,000 people.
The concept of "MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN" is "Connecting with the world and illuminating the future of music." This year, the event will be even larger in scale, with the second awards ceremony to be held on June 13th.
The program will look back at last year's memorable moments, including performances by Chanmina, Fujii Kaze, and Mrs. Green Apple, which generated significant buzz. It will also introduce this year's nominated works, notable categories, and highlights of the awards ceremony.
The "Zipangu" feature will showcase how this festival, which marked a new chapter in J-POP history, resonated with the world, through valuable performance footage and interviews with participating artists and local fans.
The program also follows HANA during their first live performance in America. It explores their days in America, including their encounter with the global stars they admire.
