The 20th episode of the NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）" (NHK General, Sundays at 8 PM, etc.), starring actor Taiga Nakano, titled "The Real Hiragumo," aired on May 24th, and viewers reacted to a person who briefly appeared in the preview for the next episode after the main story.
"BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）" is the 65th Taiga drama. With Toyotomi Hidenaga (Koichiro) as the protagonist, it depicts the miraculous feat of unifying Japan together with his older brother Hideyoshi (Tokichiro) through their strong bond, a success story of dreams and hopes.
The subtitle for the next episode, episode 21, is "Turbulent Times! Takeda Castle," and it will air on May 31st.
In episode 21, Hideyoshi (Sosuke Ikematsu) and Koichiro (Nakano) take over the conquest of Harima, which is caught between the Oda and Mori clans, in place of Araki Murashige (Tortoise Matsumoto).
It seemed like a difficult mission, but through Murashige's mediation, Kodera Kanbei (played by Yuki Kura), the castle lord of Himeji, was met and, with remarkable skill, managed to win over the local lords of Harima to the Oda side. Following Hanbei's (played by Masaki Suda) plan, Hideyoshi decided to advance his troops further west, heading towards western Harima.
Meanwhile, Koichiro is put in charge of attacking Takeda Castle in Tajima, and for the first time, he takes on the role of commander-in-chief...and the story unfolds from there.
The trailer also features Kanbei, played by Kura. Kuroda Kanbei was a military strategist who served Hideyoshi. He served the Kodera family in Harima (western Hyogo Prefecture), the front line of the power struggle between the Oda and Mori clans, but when Hideyoshi was put in charge of conquering Harima, he took the initiative to join Hideyoshi's ranks. He is "another genius military strategist" who harbors a rivalry with Takenaka Hanbei.
Kura, who plays Kanbei, has already had two films released this year, "Love Trial" and "Kyojo Requiem," and is currently appearing in the Kansai TV/Fuji TV drama series "A Vote in the Galaxy." Furthermore, he has upcoming projects such as the films "Blue Lock" and "Matching True Love," making him a noteworthy 26-year-old. "BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）" will be his first Taiga drama.
