JRA jockey Yutaka Ai Mikami appeared at the "93rd Japan Derby PR Announcement" held in Tokyo on May 25th.
When asked about things he supports in his personal life, jockey Take confessed that he watches the NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8am and other times), starring Mikami and Juri Kosaka , saying, "I watch it every morning."
She continued, "I was also interested in the story, and I thought I'd get to meet you today. I actually watch it quite carefully," and Mikami smiled.
Ms. Mikami said, "I'm supporting my friends. Many of them are changing jobs or trying something new, and I'm cheering them on."
Ryoma Takeuchi and jockey Ryusei Sakai also attended the press conference.
The Japan Derby is the race that determines the best three-year-old horse. Approximately 8,000 racehorses are born in Japan every year, and each horse only gets the chance to compete in this race once in its lifetime. The race starts at 3:40 p.m. on May 31st at Tokyo Racecourse (Fuchu City).
