"Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Fridays at 11:17 PM) is a popular variety show where "detectives" tackle bizarre requests and worries submitted by viewers. On May 22nd, Detective Daigo Nagami investigated "finding the person who saved my life on Mount Ikoma." Talent Tsutomu Sekine served as the special director for the second time in four months, with Kemuri Matsui as assistant director and Saori Masuda as secretary appearing on the show.
The request came from a 31-year-old woman in Tokyo. It was the summer of 2014, 12 years ago. My best friend and I were walking to Ikoma Sanjo Amusement Park in Nara. However, we got completely lost along the way and were stranded for about 7 hours... We couldn't get a cell phone signal and didn't know what to do. So, as a last resort, we tried hitchhiking, and miraculously, a car stopped for us. A mother and daughter were in the car, and when we explained our situation, they drove us to the amusement park.
I don't know what would have happened if it weren't for that parent and child at the time. So, I was wondering if you could help me find the parent and child who saved us. If I could reunite with them, I would like to properly say "thank you" after 12 years. I don't remember anything about the people or the car that gave us a ride, but I applied because I thought Night Scoop could somehow make it happen. I'm asking for help in finding the people who saved my life.
Detective Nagami is baffled by the vague and unhelpful request. He heads to Hozanji Station with the client and Ochiko, a friend who was stranded with them at the time, and begins questioning people. However, he's told that hitchhiking is common and that "it might have been a local." So he gathers people from the surrounding area, but the answer is back to square one!
