A long interview with former speed skater Miho Takagi, who retired from competitive skating in March of this year, will be broadcast on NHK General (Hokkaido block) on May 29th at 7:30 p.m. as part of the program "Hokkaido Road: Miho Takagi's Thoughts on Tokachi, the 'Skating Kingdom' - With You, NEXT -". More than two months after her last race, Takagi spoke at the Tokachi Oval, a skating rink full of memories for her.
Takayuki Suzui will serve as the interviewer, and the program will delve into the teachings of the Takagi family that nurtured the legend, his feelings towards his hometown of Tokachi, which became the base of his competitive career, and his plans for the future. The program will also feature plenty of rare footage of Takagi from his elementary school days.
The program will be available for streaming on NHK Plus for one week after its broadcast.
