The 16th episode of "Detective Precure!", the 23rd installment of the popular anime "Precure" series, titled "Detective Ellie's Case Files!?", will air on ABC TV and TV Asahi on May 17th at 8:30 AM.
As Mikuru was reading a novel by Kurusu Eliza, Eliza herself showed up at the Kyutto Detective Agency, asking to be hired as a detective to find ideas for her next novel. Anna and Mikuru were surprised, but just then a boy named Akayama Kotaro appeared, asking for help finding his lost pet cat, Miiko, so they began their investigation.
Before searching for Miko, Eliza gets a detailed account from Kotaro and tries to profile him. She puts on cat ears and a tail to look like a cat and searches the town with Anna and Mikuru, but although they find a cat with fur that closely resembles Miko's, they don't get any useful leads. Eliza is discouraged, but Mikuru encourages her with a line from her own novel, "A never-give-up attitude will carve the page of truth," and she decides to ask Kotaro for more details about Miko once again.
The motif of "Detective Precure!" is "detective," and the theme is "seeing, feeling, and thinking for yourself to find the 'real' answer." The main characters are girls who work as detectives with the desire to "help people in need," and guided by a mysterious power, the main character time-slips from the present day of 2027 to 1999. A story of new encounters, friendships, and growth for the Precure transcends time.
Hikari Chiga will appear as Cure Answer/Anna Akechi, Kaede Hondo as Cure Mystic/Mikuru Kobayashi, and Nao Toyama as Cure Arcana Shadow/Ruruka Mori. It has also been announced that the mysterious Pretty Cure Cure Eclair, whose true identity is unknown, will make an appearance.
