The key visual for "File 2" of the second chapter of " Mobile Police Patlabor Mobile Police Patlabor Patlabor" franchise, has been released. The refreshing visual shows Towa and Kippei standing side by side with their respective "beloved cars" behind them. A special trailer featuring footage from the second chapter, including a bullet disappearance case, a mysterious beautiful girl, and a sudden landslide, has also been released on YouTube.
It has also been revealed that Shigeru Chiba will appear as Shigeo Shiba, a part-time advisor to the Second Platoon's maintenance team; Mariya Ise will play Mariya Ise, a maintenance worker attached to the Second Platoon; Hiroki Maeda will play Yoichi Saito, the head of the maintenance team; Yoshitada Otsuka will play Kanji Kunikida, the commander of the First Platoon; and Kazuhiro Yamaji will play Kotaro Yasui, the head of the Special Vehicles Division 2.
Chapter 2, Episode 4, "Wine and Bullets," tells the story of Kurumi, a member of the maintenance team, who notices that one live round is missing from her revolver cannon in preparation for an internal audit at headquarters. She consults with Kippei, which leads to a chain reaction that involves other team members as well.
In episode 5, "Asaki Yumemishi," Towa and Kippei rescue a girl who was involved in an accident at a redevelopment construction site and take her to the hospital, but the girl is nowhere to be found, and there is no record of her admission. They follow the girl's footsteps. In episode 6, "Koi no Survival," in the rainy mountains of Okutama, Towa and Kippei go to rescue a Labor worker who is stranded after an accident, but they are caught in a sudden landslide and become stranded themselves.
"Mobile Police Patlabor EZY" is set in Japan in the 2030s, a time when the working population is declining and automation through AI technology is advancing. Labors, once cutting-edge technology, have become an established part of supporting the social infrastructure. Standalone Labors piloted by humans are being replaced by autonomous robots and are becoming obsolete. No matter how times change, the work of Special Vehicles Division 2 remains the same: protecting people and the city. The Second Platoon, along with the AV-98Plus Ingram, a tuned-up version of the old Type 98 AV Ingram, confronts new technological crimes with their wit and courage.
Yutaka Izubuchi, a member of the legendary creative group "HEADGEAR" who worked on "Mobile Police Patlabor" and was in charge of mechanical design, will direct the series, while Kazunori Ito, also from "HEADGEAR," will handle the script and series composition. JCSTAFF will produce the animation.
Sumire Sumire Uesaka plays Towa Kuga, the pilot of Ingram Unit 1, and Kikunosuke Toya Totani plays Kippei Amatori, the commander of Ingram Unit 1. Ami Koshimizu, Chikahiro Kobayashi, Setsuji Sato, Yume Matsumura, and Megumi Hayashibara also appear in the cast. The series consists of three chapters and eight episodes in total, with Chapter 1 released in theaters on May 15th. Chapter 2 will be released in theaters on August 14th, and Chapter 3 in March 2027.
