The fifth episode of the TV anime "Yomi no Tsugai," based on the latest work by Hiromu Arakawa, known for "Fullmetal Alchemist," aired on May 2nd, and it was revealed that Akira Ishida, who voices Asuma Kagemori, will be appearing in the episode. Asuma is the second son of the Kagemori family and is a character characterized by his somewhat suspicious presence, calm demeanor, and ominous smile.
Ishida commented, "Meeting a new story is a new experience, so I have a unique feeling of anticipation and anxiety mixed together. The title 'Yomi no Tsugai' made me think of 'Babel II' and the Yomotsu Hirasaka scene from the Izanagi-Izanami myth, which is proof that no matter how hard I try, I'm a ghost of the Showa era. Nevertheless, I will do my best to live as a character in a work that will run through the Reiwa era, so please look forward to the anime adaptation of 'Yomi no Tsugai'."
"Yomi no Tsugai" is the story of Yuru and Asa, twins born as "night and day separated." It has been serialized in "Monthly Shonen Gangan" (Square Enix) since December 2021, and the comic series has sold over 6 million copies in total.
The TV anime is being produced by Square Enix, Aniplex, and Bones, the same studios that produced the "Fullmetal Alchemist" anime series. Masahiro Ando, known for directing "Sword of the Stranger" and "Blast of Tempest," is directing. Kensho Ono will voice the main character, Yul, and Yume Miyamoto will voice Asa, among other cast members. It is currently airing on TOKYO MX, BS11, and other channels.
