A statue of Motoko Kusanagi and Tachikoma from the anime "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (SAC)," based on Masamune Shirow's manga "Ghost in the Shell," titled "The Legend of Beauty and the Beast: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Motoko Kusanagi& Tachikoma Art by Entei Ryu Bonus Edition" (Prime 1 Studio), will be released. This is the first in Prime 1 Studio's high-end brand "PRIME 1 STATUE," under the new format "The Legend of Beauty and the Beast," and will feature a three-dimensional representation of Motoko Kusanagi and Tachikoma. It is a 1/4 scale statue, approximately 53 cm tall, 59 cm wide, and 56 cm deep, and will cost 296,890 yen.
Artist Entei Ryu, who works extensively in the field of concept art for games and movies, has had his garage kit creations, which have garnered much attention, commercialized. He has meticulously crafted an original composition in which humans and machines merge into one.
The figure captures the life-giving sparkle in the eyes, the dramatically undulating cables of the prosthetic body, and the metallic feel of the rifle and Tachikoma. The complex interplay of organic and inorganic elements is enhanced with added detail, increasing the level of visual information. The subdued sepia color scheme was carefully adjusted to avoid monotony, resulting in a color palette that highlights the illustration's form. A custom base was also created to match the style of the artwork.
A "Character Color Ver." inspired by the anime's colors will also be released. A bonus edition, limited to 350 units worldwide, will come with an A3 art print based on concept art. Twenty lucky purchasers of either bonus edition will receive a copy signed by Entei Ryu. It will be sold at the Prime 1 Studio official online store. Scheduled for release between July and October 2027.
