The fifth episode of the drama series "Is It Wrong for a Woman Not to Give Birth? DINKs' Ten Months and Ten Days" (TV Tokyo, Mondays at 11:06 PM), starring actress Emma Miyazawa, aired on April 27th. Sayaka's (Manatsu Akimoto) actions, which cornered Tetsuya (Koudai Asaka), sent shivers down the spines of viewers.
◇The following contains spoilers.
The drama is based on the manga "DINKs' Ten Months and Ten Days: Is It Wrong to Be a Woman Who Doesn't Have Children?" by Kitamitsu Atsuki. The story follows a couple who are both working and have intentionally chosen not to have children, a "DINKs" (Double Income No Kids) couple, who live a peaceful and free life until the protagonist becomes unexpectedly pregnant due to her husband's planned betrayal. The drama depicts their struggles as they search for the right form of family and continue to face choices with no easy answers.
Tetsuya confessed to his colleague Nashida (Mizuki Maehara) that he had gotten drunk at a drinking party and woke up in a love hotel with Sayaka. He also told him that he had deleted the entire chat history from the account so that his wife, Asa (Miyazawa), wouldn't find out.
Meanwhile, a woman claiming to be "Tetsuya's wife" calls the office. When Tetsuya takes the phone, she says, "Are you going to pretend this never happened?" It turns out the caller wasn't Asa, but Sayaka.
Tetsuya, flustered, retorted, "Why are you calling the company?" But Sayaka showed no remorse and threatened, "You've blocked me, haven't you? I don't want this to end like this. If you don't unblock me, I can even come to your house to see you."
Social media was buzzing with comments like, "Wow, Manatsu was scary," "It's creepy that she called," "I've never seen such a scary, horror-like side of Manatsu before, and she was a great actress," and "She was like a wicked woman, or rather, a dark, evil demon, and it sent chills down my spine."
