The second episode of the TBS Sunday drama "GIFT," starring actor Shinichi Tsutsumi, will air on April 19th (Sundays at 9 PM).
In the previous episode... The Blaze Bulls faced the formidable Sharkhead in the Wheelchair Rugby Japan Championship. In the first half, they took the lead thanks to the efforts of their ace, Miyashita Ryo (Yuki Yamada), but when Sharkhead's ace, Taniguchi Soichi (Kanata Hosoda), came on as a substitute, they were quickly overtaken and lost by a large margin.
After the game, Kunimi (played by Ken Yasuda) approached the Blaze Bulls players and said, "What's wrong? You look like that. There's no need to look like that. You just need to have fun. Think of it as recreation."
Miyashita retorted, "Are you saying our play is just a game?" However, Kunimi told him that the Bulls' heyday was long gone, and sternly warned him, "So you must never think that way again. That you can win."
In episode 2, Go Tetsu (Tsutsumi), an astrophysicist who gleefully tackles the extremely difficult task of "making the Bulls the best in Japan," makes a proposal to the team. He proposes that Ryo and his teammates, the "serious group," who practice diligently, compete against Bando (Keita Koshiyama) and his teammates, the "recreational group," who want to have fun in a fun, recreational way. If Go Tetsu can lead the "recreational group" to victory, he will become the assistant coach. Reporter Hitoka (Kasumi Arimura) becomes interested in Go Tetsu as he devises strategies by likening the players to the world of astronomy.
Meanwhile, Ryo receives an offer from Kunimi of Sharkhead to join his team, and he finds himself wavering. Joining the formidable Sharkhead would give him the chance to compete on the world stage, but Ryo harbors a strong resentment towards Kunimi.
Meanwhile, Gotetsu accompanies coach Hino (Michiko Kichise) to the home of Keijiro (Kyohei Honda), who is confined to a wheelchair. His father, Reiji (Yasuki Okayasu), and mother, Miyuki (Yoko Kondo), ask him to let Keijiro join the Bulls, but Gotetsu sharply points out the parents' problems...
The drama follows Wu Tetsuya, a genius astrophysicist played by Tsutsumi, as he solves difficult problems facing the underdog team "Blaze Bulls" from his unique perspective. It's a story of redemption where the team, friends, and family reconnect.
