NHK's popular variety show "Bura Tamori" (NHK General), in which entertainer Tamori visits various towns, will air an episode titled "Imperial Palace East Garden ▼ Was Edo Castle Protected Thanks to the Imperial Palace!? Unraveling the Secret" on April 11th at 7:30 p.m. The Imperial Palace is once again the setting for this episode, which will explore the mysterious relationship between the Imperial Palace and Edo Castle.
Tamori and his group walk through the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, visiting the remains of the Edo Castle keep, the main keep site, and the second bailey site. The reason the keep keep remains is related to an unexpected use of the site since the Meiji era... The key to feeling the presence of Edo Castle in the East Garden is the "Opening of the East Garden to the Public" in 1968. In search of further secrets, they head to MacArthur's office, which remains in the building that was once the GHQ headquarters. Tamori reflects on the turbulent times.
Tamori's travel partner will be NHK Hiroshima announcer Mana Sato, and singer-songwriter Aimyon will provide the narration.
