The official trailer and third key visual have been released for "The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc," the theatrical film adaptation of the popular light novel series "The Irregular at Magic High School " from Dengeki Bunko (KADOKAWA). The visual depicts Miyuki Shiba standing beside Tatsuya Shiba, accompanied by the tagline, "The truth of 'the strongest' is now revealed." Multiple shadows standing behind the two hint at the complex motives surrounding the Yotsuba family, creating a visual that quietly expands the story's direction.
It was also announced that singer LiSA will be performing the theme song, "YES." Following the opening theme for the first season, "Rising Hope," and the opening theme for the third season, "Shouted Serenade," this marks LiSA's third collaboration with the series. A portion of the song was unveiled in the trailer. LiSA commented, "I, LiSA, will be performing the theme song for the theatrical film ' The Irregular at Magic High School : Yotsuba Succession Arc.' This is my third time singing a song for the series. Moving beyond the message that we have all witnessed and held onto together—the continuation of the story will be released in theaters in the spring when the deep snow melts. It has been announced that as a special gift for visitors during the first four weeks of the film's release, they will receive a newly written novel by the original author, Tsutomu Satou. The novel will consist of four parts, and the cover of each part will be illustrated by Kana Ishida, who also illustrated the original novel. The synopsis of each part will be released at a later date.
"The Irregular at Magic High School" is set at the First High School Affiliated with the National Magic University (Magic High School), which trains magic users, and depicts the adventures of siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba. The series has sold over 25 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired in 2014, and the theatrical anime film "The Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Summons the Stars" was released in 2017. The second season of the TV anime, "The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc," aired in 2020, and "The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc" aired on January 1, 2022. The third season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024. The theatrical anime film "The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc" will be released on May 8.
