It has been announced that a TV anime adaptation of "A Certain Dark Side Girl Coexistence (ITEM)," a spin-off of the "A Certain" series centered around Kazuma Kamachi's popular light novel "A Certain Magical Index Magical Index," will air in the fall of 2026. Character designs for the five members of Girl Coexistence (ITEM)—Mugino Shizuri, Takitsubo Rikou, Frenda Seivelun, Kinuhata Saiai, and Hanano Chobi—have also been released, along with a teaser PV depicting the girls' daily lives and fierce battles.
The voice actress for Hanano Chōmi will be announced at the NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan booth's special stage at "AnimeJapan 2026," which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo) on March 28th. Appearing on stage will be Ami Koshimizu Shizuri, Aya Suzaki, who plays Takitsubo Rikou, Maaya Uchida, who plays Frenda Seivelun, Chinatsu Akasaki, who plays Kinuhata Saiai, and the voice actress for Hanano Chōmi.
The "A Certain" series is popular as a light novel, manga, and anime, boasting a cumulative total of over 31 million copies sold. "A Certain Dark Side of Girls" depicts the exploits of an elite unit composed of specialists in various fields, led by Shizuri Mugino, a Level 5 esper. The anime is directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai, with Shigeki Kimoto in charge of character design. It is produced by JCSTAFF, which has previously worked on anime for the "A Certain" series.
