" Bakebake" is based on the lives of Setsu Koizumi, the daughter of a fallen samurai family in Matsue, and her husband, Lafcadio Hearn). It depicts the story of a heroine who loves ghost stories and lives an ordinary life with her foreign husband.

Two summers ago, at the press conference for "Bakebake ," I said, "I hope you'll come to love the story of Toki, who lived a slightly unusual, yet ordinary, everyday life that was neither light nor shadow." I feel that over the past six months, many people have come to love not only Toki, but also Heaven, Nishikori, and all the other characters in " Bakebake ," including Matsuno and Ushimizu 's families. Today, I feel sad that it's coming to an end, but I truly believe these were wonderful days.
