The 22nd and final episode of the second season of the TV anime "Medalist," based on a popular figure skating manga, will air on TV Asahi's late-night anime block "NUMAnimation" starting March 21st.
In the scoring rankings for each block tournament, Ahiru Miku came in second, beating out the seeded players. She is based in Niigata, where Inori and the others are currently visiting, and her coach, Kamogawa Kohei, and choreographer, Shiratori Shuna, were former clubmates and seniors of Tsukasa.
"Medalist" is a manga by Tsurumai Ikada that has been serialized in the manga magazine "Monthly Afternoon" (Kodansha) since 2020. The story follows Akira Michiji, a young man who failed as a skater, as he meets Kessoku Inori, a girl who longs for the world of figure skating, and together they aim to become a glorious medalist as coach and athlete. The first season of the TV anime aired on NUMAnimation from January to March 2025. The second season is currently airing in the same time slot. A theatrical anime film depicting the story after the second season will be released in 2027.
