Two spin-off series of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake ," starring Akari Takaishi (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), will be broadcast on NHK General for four consecutive days from 11:00 PM to 11:25 PM starting March 30th. The main characters will be Sawa ( Wan Marui Marui), a friend of Toki (Takaishi), and Ume (Maru Nouchi), a maid at the Hanada Inn. Each series will consist of two episodes, and actors Shono Hayama and Kasumi Yamaya will appear as new cast members in the Ume series.
"Osawa, Swee-chan," airing on March 30th and 31st, tells the story of Sawa and Shoda (Tommy Bastow Shogo Hama) after Toki and Heaven (Tommy Basto) have gone to Kumamoto. Sawa has finally become a full-fledged teacher and is about to leave the tenement house. However, she is troubled about how to interact with the children. It is Shoda who reaches out to Sawa at this time. There is a subtle tension between the two... Will this really lead to marriage? Nishikiori (Ryo Yoshizawa), Tsuchie (Baku Shigeoka), and Kadowaki (Yo Yoshida), unable to bear watching their relationship any longer, also take action, and the situation takes an unexpected turn... Special interview footage of Takaishi will be broadcast on the 30th, and of Basto on the 31st.
"Oume-san, Okami, Shimasu." airing on April 1st and 2nd tells the story of the time when "Heaven-san's Daily Log" was a huge hit in the Matsue Shinpo newspaper. Ume of Hanada Ryokan was going about her usual daily life. However, the proprietress, Tsuru (Nobue Iketani), suddenly throws out her back. Furthermore, the owner, Heita (Katsuhisa Namase), is out. So, Ume ends up being the proprietress for a day. On that very day, reporter Kajitani (Udai Iwasaki) shows up to do an in-depth interview with Toki and Heaven, and a suspicious couple, Makoto (Shono Hayama) and Tsumugi (Kasumi Yamaya), also come as guests... On both the 1st and 2nd, there will also be a special talk by Marui, Hama, and Nouchi, who are central figures in the spin-off.
Yoko Oike, who wrote the script for the spin-off, commented, "In an interview about writing the script for ' Bakebake,' Mitsuhiko Fujiki said, 'I'm writing a story where nothing happens.' The main story depicted a 'slightly unusual, yet ordinary, everyday life.' While cherishing that warmth, in this spin-off I wrote about an ordinary day for Osawa and Oume, but perhaps it was just a little bit special for them. I hope you enjoy it."
