Actress Riho Yoshioka appeared on the cover and in the opening pages of the mook "FRaU S-TRIP MOOK The 'real' Kyoto is in the 'sea,' 'forest,' and 'the village of tea and bamboo'!" (Kodansha), which went on sale on March 17th.
This book is the seventh in the "FRaU S-TRIP" series, and it dedicates the entire volume to thoroughly researching and introducing "another Kyoto" that many people have not yet experienced. It also includes photos of Yoshioka, who is from Kyoto, standing in the tea fields of Minamiyamashiro Village, the only "village" in the prefecture, which she visited for the first time.
Yoshioka said, "This is my first time standing in a tea field in Kyoto. This area, including Uji, is a land that has woven the history of tea. I strongly feel its specialness. When I saw the carefully tended tea fields and the mountains stretching out behind them, I thought, 'This is Kyoto.'"
Furthermore, she made her first visit to Ujigami Shrine in Uji City, whose main hall is registered as a World Heritage Site. "The moment I stepped inside, my mind immediately calmed down, and the presence of the sacred tree was also impressive. I feel that in places like Ujigami Shrine, the accumulation of time remains quietly as it was," she said.
