The eighth episode of the popular TBS Sunday drama "Reboot," starring Ryohei Suzuki, aired on March 15th (Sundays at 9 PM). The full truth about the death of his beloved wife was revealed, and a flood of shocked reactions appeared on social media.

Hayase (Ryohei Suzuki) and Fuyuhashi (Ren Nagase) were searching for Ichika (Erika Toda). Using location information, they pinpointed her home and finally cornered her, but she managed to escape at the last moment. Fueled by determination, Fuyuhashi mobilized Kiriya (Ryoka Fujisawa) and the rest of the "Shelter" group to create his own network of contact. Hayase also began to move to investigate Ichika from a different angle.
However, when Hayase grabbed Ichika's hand as she nearly fell from the balcony, he felt something was off and noticed that there were confectionery ingredients and a shortcake at Ichika's hiding place. Hayase went to Hayase Confectionery and spoke with his mother, Yoshiko (Harada Mieko), and realized that his wife, Natsumi (Yamaguchi Sayaka), had rebooted Ichika. He also learned from the surgeon, Kuwahara (Noro Kayo), that Natsumi had been rebooted.
Three years ago, Natsumi was suspected of stealing money from the organization and was blackmailed by Goroku (Yukiya Kitamura) with the lives of her family in exchange for being reinstated. At the hideout, Natsumi met the real Ichika, who lectured her on various aspects of being Ichika. Ichika revealed that she went along with the plan because she was tired of taking care of her younger sister Ayaka (Yuki Yoda) and wanted to make a lot of money and live abroad.
After the surgery, Natsumi successfully rebooted into Ichika. As the two of them celebrated with a toast, Ichika said, "I have one last request. Actually, my sister needs a lung transplant. They say it will cost 150 million yen, including travel expenses. I want you to use the money I've earned to help my sister." Natsumi was bewildered, but Ichika smiled and said, "I made a deal with Goroku, to sell my life for 150 million yen," before being shot dead by one of Goroku's henchmen.
In fact, both the 1 billion yen that disappeared three years ago and the 10 billion yen that was supposed to be lost were part of Goroku's plan. Goroku embezzled the money to raise funds to propel Shinboku Yaichi's party forward. To make the numbers add up, he forced Natsumi and Gido to reboot the party.
On social media, people expressed their surprise, saying things like, "That's so heartbreaking," and "What an incredible turn of events."
