The April issue of the voice actor magazine "Seiyuu Grand Prix" (Imagica Infos) went on sale on March 10th. The supplement is the latest edition of the magazine's popular supplement, "Seiyuu Directory 2026 Male Edition," which features a record 702 male voice actors, breaking the previous record for the 14th consecutive year. When "Seiyuu Directory" was first released as a supplement in 2001, it featured 145 male voice actors. Over the past 25 years, the number of voice actors listed has increased by approximately 4.9 times. The supplement for the March issue, released on February 10th, also features the "Seiyuu Directory 2026 Female Edition," introducing a record 1,135 female voice actors, bringing the total number of voice actors listed to 1,837.
The number of male voice actors listed in the "Seiyuu Meikan" exceeded 300 in the 2008 edition, and exceeded 500 in the 2015 edition.
The issue features Toshiki Masuda on the cover, celebrating the 15th anniversary of his debut as a voice actor. The opening feature includes a long photo spread and a long interview. In a section titled "Dear TOSHIKI," fellow voice actors with close ties to Masuda, including Shouta Aoi, Ryota Osaka, Kotaro Nishiyama, Yu Hatanaka, Tasuku Hatanaka Hatano, Shun Horie, Shinichiro Miki, and Kazutomi Yamamoto, sent messages.
