On March Getsuku , actress Ai Mikami attended a preview screening of the NHK Asadora drama "Kaze,Kaoru " (General TV, Monday to Saturday, 8am and others), which she co-stars with Juri Kosaka and which begins on March 30th, held at the NHK Broadcasting Center in Shibuya, Tokyo. She spoke about the changes she has experienced since filming began and her thoughts on completing the first week.
" Kaze,Kaoru" is a buddy drama set in the Meiji era, featuring two trained nurses, Ozeki Chika and Suzuki Masa. The two graduated from the same nursing school, but struggle with how to interact with patients and doctors, and grow through clashes before eventually becoming the "strongest buddy." Migami plays the main character, Ichinose Rin, and Uesaka plays Oya Naomi.
Looking back on the filming so far, Mikami says, "It's been six months since filming began. We've been filming every day, and it feels like we spend more time speaking our lines as characters than we do as ourselves, so it's difficult to look at it objectively..."
"As Rin, I move forward while frequently remembering the events of the first week, so when I watched the footage again, I realized that it was because of these events that Rin decided to become a nurse, and it made me feel once again motivated. The first and second weeks will be very important for Rin and Naomi as they will decide how they will live their lives and whether they will become nurses, so I hope you will not miss it," she said.
Since taking on the role of Rin, she said, "I have become even more grateful to medical workers," and spoke of the changes she has experienced herself, saying, "I have come to realize how incredible it is to work in such a tense environment where not even a single mistake is tolerated, while thinking about what nursing is and what is right as a human being. My respect for them has grown even more, and I feel I need to make sure I portray the role with that resolve in full."
The press conference was also attended by Uesaka, scriptwriter Yoshizawa Tomoko, and production manager Matsuzono Takehiro.
