New stills have been released from the film "Agito: Psychic War" (released April 29th), which commemorates the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider's birth, revealing that Hikawa Makoto, played by Jun Kaname, will fight as "Kamen Rider G7." In the TV series "Kamen Rider Agito" (2001-2002), Hikawa fought as Kamen Rider G3 and its enhanced form, Kamen Rider G3-X, and will once again throw himself into battle wearing the cutting-edge special reinforced armor "G7."
The film is the latest feature film version of "Kamen Rider Agito," the second film in the Heisei Kamen Rider series, which recorded the highest average audience rating of the series (11.7% in the Kanto region). Kaname Jun, who played Kamen Rider G3/Hikawa Makoto in "Agito," stars in the lead role, and the original cast reunites, including Kasumi Toshiki, who plays Kamen Rider Agito/Tsugami Shoichi. As with the TV series, Tasaki Ryuta will serve as director, and Inoue Toshiki will be in charge of the script. In a world where people are beginning to awaken to "psychic powers" one after another, the film depicts the rampage of those with powers and the resolve of those without. Rated PG12.
The official trailer and poster visual have also been released. The trailer shows Hikawa, who is imprisoned due to an incident, standing up with his friends to protect humanity amid a series of "impossible crimes" beyond comprehension. The poster features the tagline "Evolution of humanity or the true value of the soul?", and shows Hikawa, Tsugami, and Aoi Ruriko (Yuchami) looking determined to face a "threat beyond human understanding."
It was also announced that the theme song will be "Dramatic Heibon" (Dramatic Ordinary), a new song written specifically for the film by the five-member rock band ORANGE RANGE. Like Kamen Rider Agito, ORANGE RANGE is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and commented, "We are proud to be involved in this milestone production, the 25th anniversary of Kamen Rider Agito, as ORANGE RANGE, who are also celebrating their 25th anniversary." They added, "We hope that this song and story will give strength to those who fight."
