The drama series W-30 "Nagatan and Blue - Ichika's Cooking Book 2" is currently being broadcast and streamed on WOWOW, starring actor Mugi Kadowaki and co-starring Ryuto Sakuma Sakuma of the popular group "ACEes." The dishes featured in the drama will be served at five restaurants in three cities across Japan that are members of the restaurant information site "Rakuten Gurunavi." The period is from March 6th to May 6th.
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Yuki Isogai (Kodansha). Set in Kyoto shortly after the war, the gourmet love story begins when the protagonist, chef Ichika Kuwanoki (played by Kadowaki), marries off in an arranged marriage to Shu Yamaguchi (played by Sakuma), the third son of a long-established hotel owner in Osaka, in order to keep her family's struggling restaurant, Kuwanoki, afloat. The previous series, "Nagatan and Ao to - Ichika's Cooking Book," was broadcast and streamed in 2023, and drew attention for the frustrating love story between a couple with a 15-year age difference and Ichika's "delicious-looking dishes."
In the sequel, Ichihi's free-spirited creations, which blend Japanese and Western cuisine to create delicious-looking dishes, are one of the show's greatest attractions. This time, as part of a collaboration menu fair with Rakuten Gurunavi, five restaurants will be offering the dishes Ichihi makes in the drama: two in Tokyo, two in Osaka, and one in Kyoto.
IL COVO in Shinbashi, Tokyo will be serving the main dish from episode 5 (broadcast and streamed on March 20th), "Piccata with Plums," and the main dish from episode 6 (broadcast and streamed on March 27th), "Tarte Tatin."
The menu at Dougenzaka Katsuttsu in Shibuya, Tokyo will feature the cheese cream croquettes and tarte tatin that Ichijitsu and Amane, a married couple, made with their adopted war orphan, Michiya, in the first episode (already aired and streamed).
The Shokudo Kotoko in Umeda, Osaka will be serving the main dish "Three-Color Minced Meat Rice" from Episode 9 (broadcast/streamed on April 17th), in which a series of unexpected happenings occur throughout the day, and "Bamboo Shoots with Young Leaves" which will appear in the final episode (broadcast/streamed on April 23rd).
Obanshaku Mugi in Nakazakicho, Osaka, will be serving three-color minced meat rice and the familiar Normandy omelette, which was the dish that Amane first tried in the previous series and will also appear in the third episode of this series (broadcast and streaming on March 6th).
"Kyoto Local Vegetables and Wine Ikenaka Sakaya KADO" in Karasuma, Kyoto, serves "Cheese Cream Croquettes" and "Piccata with Plums."
