The sixth episode of the Nippon Television drama series "PUNCH-DRUNK WOMAN : Only XX Days Left Until Prison Break" (Sundays at 10:30 PM), starring actress Shinohara Ryoko, aired on March 1st. Towards the end of the episode, there is a scene in which Kusaka Reiji (played by Jesse), a suspect in the murder of his father, tweets something related to the case to prison guard Fuyuki Kozue (played by Shinohara), which has caused a stir on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers.
In episode 6, the escort vehicle carrying the escape members finally leaves the detention center. Kozue, a prison guard at Hikawa Detention Center, asks Reiji for help in thwarting the cult's escape plan, but is betrayed and imprisoned in a supplies warehouse.
As the warehouse fills with chlorine gas planted by Reiji, putting Kozue's life in danger, the traitor Ebiwara (Koseki Yuta) hijacks an escort vehicle and attempts to escape with the cultists who are waiting in the underground parking lot of the courthouse. However, Kozue escapes from the warehouse and prevents the cultists from escaping. Left behind in the getaway vehicle, Ebiwara and his men commit suicide, taking the cult leader Yoroizuka (Kawachi Yamato) with them. Numata (Kubota Yuuki), a senior member of the cult, watches this and quietly chuckles.
Meanwhile, Koyanagi (Ukaji Takashi), the head of the treatment department, who became acting director after the prison break, asks Kozue about the bag Reiji was carrying and continues to relentlessly pursue Reiji's case.
Meanwhile, Saeki (Fujiki Naohito) confesses to Kozue, "Would you like to marry me?" He prepares a ring and prepares to formally propose, but Saeki honestly tells her that Reiji had actually neutralized the chlorine gas so that Kozue would not die. Kozue cannot sit still and goes to Reiji, pressing him to find out what he is dealing with. When Reiji says he "doesn't want to get you involved," Kozue responds, "I don't mind if you get involved. Tell me," and so on.
Later, as Koyanagi and his men appear and take Reiji to an interview room, Kozue is attacked by Saijo Naoya (Kokubo Hisato), a cult leader who was ordered by Numata. Reiji quickly jumps out to protect Kozue, but is instead stabbed with Saijo's murder weapon. As he holds Kozue in his arms, Reiji tells her the location and password of a certain storage room, whispering, "If you go there, you'll find out everything."
Meanwhile, at the police station, Saeki learns that Reiji's father, Haruomi (Takezai Terunosuke), is under suspicion of illicit funds. Kozue then arrives at a storage room and finds a bag full of bills. Inside are the bills, Reiji's smartphone, and a mysterious USB.
On social media, many people expressed excitement over Reiji's actions of protecting Kozue and revealing clues to the incident. Comments such as "What a sudden move," "Does this mean he's determined to get everyone involved?", "Reiji has finally spoken!", and "The rapid developments were amazing..." were posted.
