TV Tokyo's popular information variety show "Appears! Ad Street Heaven" (Saturday 9pm) will feature a townhouse in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo, on its February 28th broadcast.
Machiya is home to a stop on the Toden Arakawa Line tram, and was selected as one of the world's "hidden gems for food" in Airbnb's "Summer 2025 Travel Trends." The program will feature fascinating downtown gourmet food that combines the three elements of cheap, tasty, and huge portions.
The program features the flagship store of a popular yakiniku restaurant! It offers limited edition Wagyu beef aged tongue, the classic Machiya souvenir, Imagawayaki filled with sweet bean paste, homemade side dishes and giant gyoza, and a menu of 200 Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes! A daytime drinking paradise will be featured.
In addition, we will introduce a local Chinese restaurant serving large portions of fried noodles and mysterious fried rice, a Western restaurant with a long line! Seven kinds of all-you-can-eat hamburger steaks, grilled without any mounds! Machiya-style monja, and a Hina doll costume workshop that has been in business since the Meiji era. We will also introduce the iron bat of Suzuki Seiya, a Machiya native and player for the Chicago Cubs in the US major leagues.
The guests are singer Mizumori Kaori and comedy duo Nasunaka Nishi.
