An event commemorating the 10th anniversary of the anime Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 10th Anniversary Event - Tekka Festival -" was held on February 15th at Tachikawa Stage Garden (Tachikawa, Tokyo). A stellar cast of voice actors gathered to perform original recitations and live dubbing, revealing stories from that time that they could only talk about now that 10 years have passed.
Approximately three minutes before the start of the show, a special manners video featuring an original illustration of Eugene Sevenstark dressed in a suit and Tekkadan rookie Tekkaneko was screened. As attendees were greeted with Tekkadan's signature red sign lights, a band led by composer Masaru Yokoyama performed the theme song "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans," and the voice actors appeared dressed up, marking the start of the event.
The event kicked off with an original reading play written specifically for the Tekkadan Festival. Starting with Shino's "Super Galaxy Song Show," the members of the troupe each prepared their own performances for the Tekkadan Festival stage, which was to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Iron-Blooded Orphans and take place in the Chryse-Tachikawa district. However, a sudden electrical problem put the stage in danger of being interrupted. McGillis and Gaelio, who happened to be present, offered to help Tekkadan.
Yokoyama and his band performed seven songs, including "Crescent Moon" and "My Own Way," during the live performance. During the talk corner, he spoke in 5, 10, 30, and 60 seconds about five themes: "Thoughts on the 10th anniversary," "Thoughts on the Tekka Festival event," "Anecdotes from back then that I can only talk about now," "This is my best scene from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans!", and "What I'd like to say to myself from 10 years ago."
In the first half, Kengo Kawanishi (voice of Mikazuki Augus), Yasuaki Takumi (voice of Akihiro Altland), Yuka Terasaki (voice of Kudelia Aina Bernstein), Takahiro Sakurai (voice of McGillis Fareed), and Hisako Kanemoto (voice of Atra Mixta) engaged in a conversation that could only be held now, 10 years later. In the second half, Natsuki Hanae (voice of Biscuit Griffon), Masaya Matsukaze (voice of Gaelio Bauduin), Mutsumi Tamura (voice of Ride Massu), Taishi Murata (voice of Norba Shino), and Yoshimasa Hosoya (voice of Orga Itsuka) talked about the scene in the first episode featuring Orga and Biscuit, their memories of dubbing, and the trust between the cast members. Sakurai and Matsukaze also discussed the appeal of Gjallarhorn.
A live dubbing of the new 10th anniversary short film "Maku-Ama no Kusabi" was also shown. Scriptwriter Mari Okada wrote an additional scenario, and Yokoyama's band performed live on stage. The first half of the newly written story included conversations between Orga and Biscuit, and between Orga and Mikazuki.
The band "SPYAIR" also appeared and performed the opening theme "RAGE OF DUST." At the end, Kawanishi spoke of his hopes for further development of the series, which elicited loud cheers and applause from the fans. Kawanishi and Hosoya then fist-bumped, just like the famous scene between Mikazuki and Orga, bringing the event to a close. After the curtain closed, a surprise illustration of Mikazuki and Orga drawn by character designer Michinori Chiba was revealed on the screen.
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" is set approximately 300 years after the end of the great war known as the Calamity War, and depicts the battles of Mikazuki, Augus, and the Tekkadan. The first season aired from October 2015 to March 2016, and the second season aired from October 2016 to April 2017.
A special edition of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr Hunt," entitled "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr Hunt -The Trail of a Little Challenger-," was released in theaters on October 31, 2026, which also attracted a lot of attention. "Urdr Hunt" is an anime distributed on the "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans" smartphone app "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans G." A new short film from "Iron-Blooded Orphans," "The Wedge Between Curtains," was screened at the same time.
