The NHK morning drama series "Bakeke" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8am and others), starring Takaishi Akari, will enter its 20th week, "Where are you, where are you?", on February 16th. The setting of the story will move to Kumamoto. Here, as a preview, we will introduce Ran, played by Renbutsu Misako.
Ran is the wife of Robert, a fellow English teacher of Heaven (Tommy Bastow). As a Japanese wife of a foreigner, she becomes a role model for Toki (Takaishi) and a good friend he can talk to about anything.
Renbutsu, who plays Ran, will be appearing in a morning drama for the first time in nine years since "Beppin-san" in the second half of 2016.
"Bakeke" is the 113th morning drama. Based on the story of Lafcadio Hearn and his wife Setsu, the story follows a couple, with a heroine who loves ghost stories, as they go about their everyday lives together with their foreign husband.
In week 20, Toki and Heaven began their new life in Kumamoto.
The Matsuno family has become a large household with the addition of Tsukasasuke (Takashi Okabe), Fumi (Chizuru Ikewaki), Takeru (Rairin Sugita) and Masaki (Yukito Hidaka) who came from Matsue as students, the rickshaw driver Nagami (Nobumitsu Onishi), and the new maid Kuma (Toru Natsume). Everyone spends their days peacefully, but being too peaceful becomes a problem.
Meanwhile, the situation suddenly changes when something important to the Matsuno family goes missing.
