Mio Matono and Tozuki Yamashita from the idol group Sakurazaka46 will appear on the HBC (Hokkaido Broadcasting) program "Zenkoku Boroii Yado," which will be broadcast from 3:00 PM on February 15th. Matono and Yamashita will participate in the program's location shoot and visit a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house filled with love for trains. At a roadside station, Yamashita will also try her hand at a food report.
The program will affectionately refer to these rundown-looking inns as "shabby inns" that are somehow beloved, and explore the secret behind their popularity.
Matono and Yamashita visited Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture. They visited a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house, located just a 30-second walk from Tanimuracho Station on the Fujikyu Railway Line. Railway merchandise is displayed here and there throughout the house, making it popular with families with children. They also enjoyed local gourmet specialties at a nearby roadside station. For dinner, they helped the owner and enjoyed a feast of local Yamanashi cuisine, packed with seafood and vegetables.
Matono Mio commented, "The couple who ran the inn treated us like they were their own grandchildren. When we took a photo together, they leaned on our shoulders, and they were like real grandmothers, which left a strong impression on me. I would definitely like to meet them again someday! If it weren't for this connection through the program, I would never have had the opportunity to learn about this place, so I was really happy to have been able to visit, and it was a wonderful, heartwarming experience."
Yamashita Tozuki said, "It was a really wonderful inn, and I had a heartwarming time there, thinking, 'Who knows such a warm place exists?' I was able to experience some of the charms that you can't really understand unless you're actually there, so I hope that viewers will think, 'I want to go there!' The minced meat cutlet at the roadside station was really delicious!"
The program will be broadcast on 12 TBS affiliated stations.
