The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM), which will air from February 16th to 20th, has been announced. The guests on the 16th will be actor and TV personality Maiko Ito, on the 17th the band Godiego, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, on the 18th comedian Hanawa, on the 19th musical actor Yoshio Inoue, and on the 20th freelance announcer Miki Sumiyoshi.
Ito debuted as an idol and later became an actor. Wanting to "do something useful for people," he enrolled at Waseda University at the age of 45, where he studied preventive medicine and continued on to graduate school. He is currently continuing his research at the University of Tokyo Graduate School and also teaches as a university professor.
Godiego is celebrating its 50th anniversary, with the band's average age now at 72. Watching footage from their first appearance on "Tetsuko's Room" 46 years ago, they look back on their activities to date. They also reveal the secrets behind their hit songs, including "Gandhara," "Galaxy Express 999," and "Beautiful Name."
Hanawa, who has been in the entertainment industry for 30 years, is the father of three sons. His eldest son got married and his first grandchild was born. He and his wife celebrated their silver wedding anniversary last year, and he was awarded Partner of the Year 2025. He will also perform a song based on a true story he shared with his wife, "A Secret from Mama."
It has been 25 years since Inoue made her stage debut at the age of 20 while studying at Tokyo University of the Arts. Late last year, she suddenly lost her voice and went through a period of despair. She has two sons, ages 19 and 7, and her eldest has been training in ballet in Germany since last year. She says her second son has taught her her own limitations.
Sumiyoshi, a former NHK announcer, lost her father in a traffic accident at the age of 54. When she was sorting through her father's belongings after closing down her family home in Canada, she found a handwritten letter from her father, encouraging her and thinking about her future, which she found particularly grateful.
