It has been announced that voice actors Shion Wakayama and Shuichiro Umeda will appear in the film adaptation of "The Irregular at Magic High School: The Yotsuba Succession," an anime adaptation of the popular light novel series "The Irregular at Magic High School" from Dengeki Bunko (KADOKAWA). Wakayama will play Tsutsumi Kotonari, the guardian of Shibata Katsunari, one of the candidates to become the next head of the Yotsuba family, while Umeda will play Tsutsumi Souta, Kotonari's younger brother and Katsunari's guardian. A second teaser trailer featuring Tsutsumi Kotonari and Tsutsumi Souta has also been released, along with a second key visual featuring Shiba Miyuki, Tsutsumi Kotonari, and Tsutsumi Souta, centered around Shiba Tatsuya and Shibata Katsunari, emitting intense flashes of light.
"The Irregular at Magic High School" is set in the National Magic University Affiliated First High School (Magic High School), which trains magic users, and depicts the exploits of siblings Tatsuya Shiba and Miyuki. The total number of copies of the series published is over 25 million.
The first season of the TV anime aired in 2014, and the movie version of the anime, "The Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Calls the Stars," was released in 2017. The second season of the TV anime, "The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc," aired in 2020, and the TV anime "The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc" aired on January 1, 2022. The third season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024. The movie version of the anime, "The Irregular at Magic High School: The Yotsuba Succession," will be released on May 8.
