It was announced on February 13th that talent Ruriko Kojima will be MCing Abema's original variety show "I Sold All My Assets," her first role since returning to the entertainment industry. Kojima commented, "I was honestly happy when I received the offer. Since I was going to do it, I really wanted to make it a good show, so I communicated closely with the staff and prepared accordingly."
The show is a three-episode variety show that follows celebrities as they sell off all of their assets of their own volition and pursue new dreams, supporting them in restarting their lives. Along with Kojima, Takashi Yoshimura of the comedy duo "Heisei Nobushikobushi" will also serve as MC.
The first guest will be model and talent Yuki Kimura, also known as "Yuki Poyo." She will decide to sell all of her assets, including brand-name bags and clothes, that she thinks are "currently sellable." Additionally, there will be a "Kojiuri (show-selling) project" in which the value of the assets that are "symbols of the self" of the once-popular Nezumi Senpai, former Morning Musume member Ai Kago, and Maggie Shinji will be quantified. The first episode will air on February 19th at 11:00 PM.
On October 12th of last year, Kojima announced that she would be returning to show business after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus. She has restarted her life by founding her own agency and launching a new tea business, and spoke of the program's highlights, saying, "As a business owner myself, I feel that this program is full of raw realism and will be extremely helpful for anyone considering their next challenge."
She continued, "I feel a tremendous sense of security with Yoshimura, who is my co-MC, as he makes the show work no matter what the situation. It's because Yoshimura creates the foundation for the show's footage and makes sure the guests don't get hurt that I was able to get into the things I wanted to do. On the other hand, Yoshimura commented, "My co-MC Kojima Ruriko was amazing, she has a lot of knowledge! I felt that she has gained a lot of experience and has come back even more powerful after absorbing a lot of knowledge. Her talk is as sharp as ever and she was very reliable."
