"A House in the Middle of Nowhere" (ABC TV/TV Asahi, Sundays 7:54 PM) is a variety show that uses satellite photos to find secluded houses. On the February 15th broadcast, a man who bought a mountain in Ehime Prefecture and built a log cabin with his own hands will revisit the show for the first time in six and a half years. The guests are actor Yuna Taira and Kenchi Tachibana from the dance and vocal groups "EXILE" and "EXILE THE SECOND."
This time, we visited a house inhabited by a 46-year-old man who was featured in a program broadcast in June 2019. He had run photo studios in Tokyo and Yokohama, but in 2017 he sold his house and bought a mountain in Ehime Prefecture, where he said he planned to build a log cabin with his own hands. Upon reuniting after a long time, the man (53) showed the same smile as he did back then. He had completed the log garage he had been building by assembling logs into a garage house. The search team closely interviewed him about his life in the garage house, which he had moved into from his mountain hut about three years ago.
The man installed solar panels and a hybrid battery system in his new home, and even installed a reverse osmosis water purifier to remove any impurities from the pumped stream water.
