When Naomi finds out that Mirai will be playing the lead role in the next performance, she suddenly travels to Tokyo from Toyama. Mirai explains to Souta, who is in her apartment, that he is "her child from the future," but Naomi finds it hard to believe.
Naomi decides to stay at the apartment for a while. When she finds out that Souta has also met Mirai's brother, she decides to believe Mirai's story. Still, she says, "I've worked so hard, but I've always regretted making you guys feel lonely. I don't want you to have to endure that," and suggests that she return to Toyama with Souta after the performance. After successfully completing the play, Mirai tells Naomi, "I still have a long way to go, but I want to work hard here a little longer."
When Naomi tried to go back to Toyama, Mirai stopped her, crying and thanking her, "I never felt lonely (in Toyama). I ate delicious food every day, and on my days off, the three of us played together. I was so happy." Naomi cheered her on, saying, "I'm in your hometown. From now on, you can rely on me for anything! And tell me about your next play."
On social media, the episode was a hot topic, with comments such as, "It was an episode about mother and daughter - it made me cry," "I cried my eyes out at the latest episode," "A mother's love is incredible...I want to go back to my parents' house and eat my mother's food (cries)," "It's like watching myself and my mother arguing and it hurts my heart," and "I'm curious to see what happens next but it's on break next week (cries)."
The drama is based on the popular manga "My Future Son: A Son Came Down From Heaven After 10 Years of Singles!" written by Kumiko Aso and illustrated by Hajime Kuromugi. Mirai, who is unsure about love, work, and dreams, suddenly becomes a mother. Through raising a child, she learns about living with others and supporting each other, and the story depicts her rekindling her life.
