It has been announced that Haruka Kawachi's manga "Tear Rain and Serenade," which was serialized in the manga magazine "Kiss" (Kodansha) for about 11 years and reached its final chapter in November 2025, will be made into a TV anime in 2027.
The story is a "time-slip romance" depicting the fateful love between two people who meet across time. One day, during music class, a lively high school girl named Hina is suddenly enveloped in a light and transported back in time to the year 1907. There, she meets the melancholy heir of a wealthy family, Hongo Takaaki, and a girl named Hinako who looks just like her, and the gears of fate begin to turn. The story was serialized in "Kiss" from November 2014 to November 2025.
To commemorate the decision to make the series into a TV anime, a visual drawn by Kawachi has been released. It depicts Hina and Takaaki laughing together as children.
