"Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Friday 11:17 PM) is a popular variety show in which "detectives" tackle viewers' unexpected requests and worries. On February 6th, Detective Matsui Kemuri investigated "I want to say I love you from a decorated truck." Entertainer Junji Takada made his first appearance on the show as the special director, along with assistant director Daigo Nagami and secretary Saori Masuda.
The request came from a 49-year-old woman in Nara Prefecture. She is divorced twice and in her fifties with two daughters. She enjoys her days with the support of her third husband. They've been together since kindergarten, and were classmates in elementary and junior high school. Her husband is a very kind man, and even when she became seriously ill and got divorced, he was always there for her as a friend, giving her the strength to live.
However, this shy woman has never expressed her feelings to her face, so she asks if you can help her "ride in a decorated truck and tell your husband you love him."
Her father drove long-distance trucks, and she had longed for large trucks since she was a child. She was fascinated by the flashy and glamorous "Decotora" trucks and always wanted to drive one someday. She absolutely loved them, and wanted to appear before her husband in a dazzling Decotora truck! That would get her adrenaline pumping! Her excitement would be at its peak! She felt like that momentum would help her break out of her shell and say, "I love you."
The client has had a turbulent life, having been divorced twice and suffering from serious illness. In fact, he has a clean and tidy appearance, far removed from the "Decotora" image, and was deeply moved when he watched the "Decochari Boy" episode during his serious illness. Then, Takanori, the decochari boy who is now a high school student, makes a dashing appearance in his "Decotora," and his 20 fellow decotora drivers gather together.
A woman riding in her favorite decorated truck says she wants to express her love for her husband through a "Decotora Song Show." Her love for her husband shines brightly, no less than the dazzling 20 decorated trucks.
