The 82nd episode of the NHK morning drama "Bakeke" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Takaishi Akari, was broadcast on January 27th, and viewers were drawn to the complicated feelings that Sawa (Marui Wan) revealed about Toki (Takaishi).
Toki is worried about repairing his relationship with Sawa, so Heaven (Tommy Bastow) suggests that he write a message of support for Sawa in his column "Heaven Sensei Diary," which is serialized in the Matsue Shimpo newspaper. Toki is hesitant, but accepts the suggestion on the condition that Sawa's name is not mentioned.
Sawa, who is studying hard at the Shiratori Club, is being tutored by Shoda (Hama Shogo). One day, Yamahashi (Emoto Tokio) comes over with a meat pie as a gift. Sawa is impressed by the taste of Western food for the first time.
Meanwhile, the topic turned to "Heaven Teacher's Diary." The article read, "Otoki, the teacher's wife, has a dear friend. She is currently studying for the qualification exam to become a full-time elementary school teacher. Otoki prays every day for her best friend to pass." The salon members were excited, saying, "Just like Heaven Teacher's wife!", but Sawa's expression was gloomy. Shoda stared intently at Sawa.
As Sawa was leaving, Shoda stopped her and asked, "There must be something on your mind...about that article." Sawa explained, "Otoki and I were childhood friends, we went to the same elementary school and lived in the same tenement house, and we were both always poor." "We were best friends who'd always licked each other's wounds together." "One day, we suddenly got together with Heaven-sensei, and before you knew it...things had happened."
After hearing Sawa's story, Shoda describes Toki as "Matsue's Cinderella." When Shoda begins to say, "That's why you don't think it's funny, Sawa...", Sawa interrupts, "That's what I think," but then quickly reveals her true feelings, "I do..." Sawa then says, "I still like Toki, and I'm grateful for her support. But, how can I put it..." with a complicated expression on her face.
Shoda empathized with this, saying, "I understand," and revealed, "Actually... I have a friend like that too." He was probably referring to Nishikori (Yoshizawa Ryo). Shoda encouraged Sawa, saying, "Well, just do your best. It doesn't matter if you want to get back at Otoki or whatever. Anyway. I'm with you."
On social media, people were saying things like, "Shoda melted Sawa's heart," "I'm glad Shoda was there," "The two of them are similar," "What Sawa needs right now is someone like this who will listen," "I'm really glad she has someone who understands her," "The distance between the two of them is closing very naturally," and "I hope they become important to each other."
