The title of the latest film in the popular anime series "Soreike! Anpanman," the 37th installment, has been decided as "Soreike! Anpanman: Pantin and the Promised Star," and it has been revealed that it will be released on June 26th. The keyword for the latest film is "promise," and a new character, the red panda traveler Pantin, will appear.
In order to keep an important promise he made to an adventurer long ago, Pantin embarks on a great adventure in search of the treasure said to be hidden in the rainbow star shining in the night sky. Along the way, he meets friends Anpanman, Cream Panda and others, and together they join forces to overcome the challenges that come their way one after another.
The film will be directed by Yano Hiroyuki, who has worked on films such as "Anpanman: Dokin-chan's Thrilling Calendar" (1991) and "Anpanman: Dolly of the Planet of Life" (2006), and the script will be written by Yonemura Shoji, who has written films such as "Anpanman: When the Flower of Courage Blooms" (1999) and "Anpanman: Baikinman and the Picture Book Lurun" (2024).
A special visual drawn by Yanase Studio has been released. It depicts Pantan and Anpanman looking up at a starry sky shining with a rainbow star. Anpanman smiling gently and Pantan in the form of an old man are projected on the surface of the water, along with the tagline, "Let's go to the promised place."
"Soreike! Anpanman" is based on the popular picture book by Takashi Yanase. The TV anime series began in 1988, and the first movie was released the following year in March 1989.
