Singer-songwriter Kei Ogura will appear on NHK's music program "SONGS" (General), which will be broadcast from 10 pm on January 22nd. This will be Ogura's first appearance on the program in 13 years.
Ogura, now 82 years old, has produced over 2,000 songs since his debut in 1971. In addition to his own hits, he has written songs for over 300 artists. He has produced many big hits that colored the Showa era, such as "Sikramen no Kaori," "Oretachi no Tabi," "Yume Shibai," and "Ai Sansan."
Ogura, who was pursuing a career in music while working at a bank and had not shown his face for a long time, went on to hold his first concert, and at the age of 70 he held a "funeral concert" to mark the end of his concert career. The program looks back on his 55 years in the music business, with treasured footage from NHK. In addition to the behind-the-scenes stories of the creation of his hit songs, Ogura's candid style explodes.
In the studio performance, he will perform "Ai San San," which he wrote for Misora Hibari, as well as his signature song "Saraba Seishun" and the classic "Kanso no Uta."
