"Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Friday 11:17 PM) is a popular variety show in which "detectives" tackle viewers' unexpected requests and worries. On January 23rd, Detective Seiya investigated "taking the place of the eldest son of six siblings." Also appearing were Special Director Sawabe Yu, Assistant Director Takeyama Takanori, and Secretary Masuda Saori.
The request came from a 12-year-old boy in the sixth grade of elementary school in Hiroshima Prefecture. He is the eldest of six siblings. The boy is 12 years old, with three younger siblings aged 10, 8, 5, 2, and 0. Both of his parents work; his mother is a company president, his father helps his mother, and the father and the boy are responsible for the housework.
When parents are at work, boys take care of their younger siblings. Preparing meals, putting away laundry, changing diapers... there's a lot to do. I want my other siblings to help out too, but they don't listen unless I keep nagging them, and I'm jealous of my classmates who can play freely. To be honest, I'm tired of being the eldest son. Since I've only ever been the eldest son since I was born, I'd like to be the second son, even if just for one day. Can you please be the eldest son in my place?
When Detective Seiya arrives at the home, he is greeted by the client, Kuranosuke, and his father, but a fight breaks out between his younger brothers in the background! What's more, the father suddenly has to go to work. First, Seiya has to soothe the crying baby, change his diaper, and then make sandwiches for lunch, leaving him with no time to rest. Meanwhile, the client is enjoying his "second son," saying, "It's easy because I only have to watch over him."
However, Seiya was already exhausted. But even from here, the housework continued endlessly, cleaning up after dinner, putting the baby to bed, putting away the laundry, etc. What was the famous line that Seiya sent to his boyfriend who wished to "go to parties and play basketball with his friends"?
