The second episode of the drama series "Okome no Onna - National Tax Agency Document Investigation Division, Miscellaneous Affairs Room" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), starring actress Nanako Matsushima, was broadcast on January 15th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 8.9% for households and 4.9% for individuals.
The drama is set in the newly established "Complex National Tax Case Processing Office (commonly known as Zakkoku)" of the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau's Document Investigation Division (commonly known as Kome, because of the character for rice, which means "fee"), which boasts high information gathering capabilities and investigative skills in tax investigations. The drama follows the talented investigator Yoneda Seiko (played by Matsushima) as she, along with a group of unique individuals, takes down unscrupulous tax evaders.
The second episode featured guest appearances by Yuki Kosei, Uemura Kaisei, Tokui Yu, Okayama Hajime, and Myu Moriyama, who is currently in the spotlight for her popular segment "Detective Tsuda" on the popular variety show "Wednesday Downtown" (TBS).
National tax investigator Masako Yoneda has her eye on twin brothers who have taken over a long-established Japanese confectionery shop after the previous owner passed away. The older brother is protecting the long-established store's name, while the younger brother has opened a shop selling innovative sweets. However, Saku Hisako (Mao Daichi), who was close friends with the previous owner, strongly opposes the investigation. Meanwhile, Yuka (Neru Nagahama) witnesses Saku Hisako entering an apartment where a young man lives... and so the story unfolds.
