The drama is based on the popular manga "My Future Son: A Son Came Down From Heaven After 10 Years of Singles!" written by Kumiko Aso and illustrated by Hajime Kuromugi. The story follows a woman who is half-hearted in love, work and dreams, but suddenly becomes a mother. Through raising her child, she learns about the importance of living and supporting others, and starts living again. This is Shida's first role as a mother in 20 years, since the 2006 drama "14-Year-Old Mother" (NTV).
Pursuing his dream of becoming an actor, Mirai is a member of the theater troupe "Albatross" led by his ex-boyfriend Yoshizawa Masaki (Akihisa Shiono), and spends his days busy with activities with his friends and part-time jobs. However, after receiving a notice that he has failed an audition, he begins to think that maybe it's time to give up. At that time, Sota (Amano Yu) appears, claiming to be Mirai's son from the future who has traveled back in time from 2036.
While Mirai is confused by Souta's presence, she is cast in a drama. Determined to leave her mark, she takes Souta to the set, but it doesn't go well. After that, various things pile up, and Mirai reaches her emotional limit, yelling at Souta, "I told you I'm not your mom! I'm so consumed with my own things. I don't have the time!"
She continued, sobbing in front of Souta, "I can't even see my own future. I'm the only one who hasn't made any progress. I'm just miserable. I feel miserable every day. I'm ashamed every day. There's no way I could be a mother!"
On social media, people were talking about how "I cried so much. I thought about life, dreams, and so many other things," "This drama is better than I expected. I cried from the first episode. Shida Mirai is just too good," "Shida Mirai is such a good actress - I ended up crying," "I cried from the first episode. This is definitely a great drama. I was drawn into Shida Mirai's acting," and "She's so good at acting when you're feeling down and then all these bad things happen at once and you start crying."
