It has been announced that Yaotome Hikaru of the popular group Hey! Say! JUMP will be appearing as a voice actor in the latest TV anime, "Magical Sisters Lullutto Lily," in the Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Magical Girl series, which also includes the anime series "Magical Angel Creamy Mami." This will be Yaotome's first attempt at voice acting, and she will play Meeter, a resident of the magical kingdom who holds the key to the story. The Pierrot Magical Girl series is a series that aired five works on TV between 1983 and 1998, and it is also attracting attention that this will be the first time a new TV anime will be broadcast in approximately 28 years, since the fifth work, "Magical Stage Fancy Lala," which aired in 1998.
Yaotome commented, "I'm pleased to announce that I will be appearing as Meeter in the TV anime series 'Magical Sisters Lulluto Lily'! This will be my first time as a voice actor! I love anime, so I'm very happy to be involved in this work. The character I'll be playing, Meeter, is a resident of the magical kingdom who has come to visit from the magical kingdom of Felix Star. He's cute in both appearance and form, and has a mysterious charm to him. He also plays the important role of bestowing magical powers on the main character. This was my first time trying voice acting, so I was really nervous during the first dubbing session, but the atmosphere on set was very warm and I was able to act freely and enjoyably. I hope you'll keep an eye on the performance of Meeter, the character I'm playing." A video of Yaotome's comments was also posted on YouTube.
It was also announced that additional cast members will include Kohei Amasaki, Ryumaru Tachibana, and Tomokazu Sugita.
Amasaki, who plays Seo Shota, a childhood friend of the Nonoyama Kaze and Nonoyama Ryu sisters, commented, "I am very happy to be able to appear as a voice actor in the latest installment of the Pierrot Magical Girl series. This time it's 'Magical Sisters Lullutto Lily.' The dubbing work is progressing, and each recording is so much fun. The soft world view of the work and the gentle atmosphere of the characters are carried straight into the dubbing studio, and it helps to soothe the prickly feelings I have every day. We have been able to create this work with a wonderful cast and staff, led by Tachibana Mei, who plays Nonoyama Kaze, and Ojika Nao, who plays Nonoyama Ryu! We really want many people to see this work. I hope you will support it! I hope you will also look forward to Amasaki playing Shota!"
Tachibana, who plays Shota's friend Kadotani Hisashi, said, "There are all sorts of things I can't say about the plot yet... but anyway! It's a work that I want lots of people to see! It's chock full of unique characters! It's hectic, but there are also some heart-warming scenes, and it will warm the hearts of those who watch it and make them happy! I think it's that kind of work! Please wait with excitement and anticipation until it airs! I'm looking forward to it too!"
Sugita, who plays the president of Production One, Kamitate Yasuo, said, "I play Kamitate Yasuo. My name is Tomokazu Sugita. As I play the president of the agency, my job is to promote the idols who belong to it. I will put my own needs on the back burner. First of all, please support the production and the girls."
It was also announced that Yaotome and Amakasaki will be additionally appearing at the premiere screening to be held at Marunouchi Piccadilly (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) on March 15. Voice actors Tachibana, Ojika, Ai Kayano Hiroki, Kayano Ai, Fuka Izumi, and Hirohara Fuu will also be appearing at the event.
"Magical Sisters Lullu Lily" depicts the story of Nonoyama Kaze, an innocent elementary school student, and Nonoyama Ryu, a modest but hardworking middle school student, who use their magical powers to become idols. Kaze and Ryu were close sisters, but the distance between them had been growing. One day, Kaze encounters a mysterious spaceship and is granted magical powers. Meanwhile, Ryu also gains magical powers. Kaze and Ryu transform into the adult forms they have always dreamed of, but there are rules: "The deadline is one year" and "No one must know about the magic," so they each begin to work as idols, unaware of each other's secrets. Kaze transforms into Konpeto Lily, and Ryu transforms into Mashururu.
Shintaro Dokai, who has worked on "Arknights [Perish in Frost]" and other titles, will serve as director and will also be in charge of character design. Yuko Kakihara will be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. The series will begin airing in April.
The Pierrot Magical Girl series was broadcast with the first series, "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Mami," airing from 1983 to 1984, the second, "Magical Fairy Persia," from 1984 to 1985, the third, "Magical Star Magical Emi," from 1985 to 1986, the fourth, "Magical Idol Pastel Yumi," in 1986, and the fifth, "Magical Stage Fancy Lala," in 1998.
