It was revealed on the 5th that the four-member band Mr.Children's new song "Again" has been chosen as the theme song for the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Suzuki Ryohei, which will begin on January 18th. This will be the first time the band has been in charge of a theme song for a Sunday Theatre drama in about 22 years, since "Sign" for "Orange Days" in April 2004.
"Again" is said to be a song that strongly encourages the protagonist as he sacrifices himself for his family. Mr.Children's Kazutoshi Sakurai commented, "I was drawn into the thrilling story as it continued to unfold, and I read the script with great interest. 'Tension,' 'speed,' 'sorrow and strength,' and 'hope.' I tried to express the important elements that make up this drama in the music. I still don't know the ending of the story, but right now I'm just looking forward to the broadcast."
In the drama, Suzuki plays the dual roles of an honest pastry chef and a corrupt police officer. This "extreme family suspense" follows Hayase Riku, an ordinary pastry chef framed for the murder of his wife, who must abandon his beloved family and past to prove his innocence and find the real culprit, and reinvent himself as Gido, a corrupt detective at the Metropolitan Police Department. The script is written by Kuroiwa Tsutomu, who has worked on many hit Sunday Theatre dramas such as "Grand Maison Tokyo," "TOKYO MER: Running Emergency Room," and "My Family."
New drama footage featuring the theme song "Again" has also been released.
