NHK's evening drama "Kaedama Bravo!" (Monday to Thursday, 10:45 p.m.), starring actress Kana Kita, will begin airing on January 5th. The play is an original work by playwright and director Kishimoto Ayuka. It is a slightly dark comedy for adults that combines friendship, ramen, and classical ballet.
Kita plays the main character, Senbon Karina, a ramen-loving employee at an advertising agency. Karina is a 29-year-old from Sapporo who works at an advertising agency in Tokyo. Until high school, she attended ballet classes with her best friend, Yumi. In fact, she writes a popular ramen blog called "The Giraffe's Blog: Its Neck Grew Longer While Searching for Ramen," and is an avid ramen lover who eats 200 bowls a year. When her best friend suddenly announces that they're no longer friends, she struggles but continues to forge ahead.
Amano Hana will play the role of ballet dancer Niki Yumi, Karina's best friend since they were six years old, and Komakine Akita, Nozoe Yoshihiro, and Kintaro will also appear.
In the first episode, Senbon Karina (Kita), who works at an advertising agency, is in charge of the new product launch of a ballet wear brand. With the help of her best friend, Yumi (Amano), a professional ballerina, Karina's preparations go smoothly, but on the day of the event, one of the ballet dancers is unable to attend.
Karina, who has experience in ballet, is suddenly asked to take over as a substitute, but she is faced with an unexpected incident on stage that changes her life...
