The third season of the TV anime " MF Ghost, " based on the successor to Shuichi Shigeno's popular manga "Initial D, " " MF Ghost 3rd Season," will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels from January 4th.
The first episode of the third season, episode 25, "Miraculous Resurrection," depicts the third MFG race at The Peninsula Manazuru. Kanata's tenacious drive despite falling far behind reminds him of his mentor, Takumi Fujiwara, and adversity ironically awakens his instincts as a racing driver. Just as an Audi approaches from behind and tries to overtake the 86, Kanata quickly shifts into second gear and realizes that the pain in his elbow has disappeared. Confused by the indescribable situation, Kanata regains his original speed and declares his intention to come back for revenge.
"MF Ghost" was serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) from September 2017 to February 2025. Set in Japan in the year 202X, where self-driving cars have become widespread, the story follows Kanata Katagiri Katagiri, a British racing school graduate, who takes part in a race to achieve a certain goal while the MFG car race on public roads is gaining popularity around the world.
Kanata is a student of Takumi Fujiwara , the protagonist of " Initial D, " and races in a red 86. The appearance of characters from " Initial D, " such as Keisuke Takahashi and Hiroya Okuyama, also attracted attention. The series was also adapted into a TV anime, with the first season airing from October to December 2023 and the second season from October to December 2024. The total number of copies of the comics published is over 7 million.
