It has been announced that talent Yoshizumi Ishihara will be appearing as a guest voice actor in the annual New Doraemon 's Eve one-hour special of the popular anime series " Doraemon " (TV Asahi). He will play the villain Nobita and his friends in the new original episode "Space Western: Umatake in the Wilderness," which features a new creature from the future called "Umatake." Ishihara will also appear as part of the "Zawatsuku Trio" on the same station's "Zawatsuku! New Year's Eve," which will air from 5:00 PM on the same day. Ishihara will be livening up the last day of 2025 from morning until night.
In "Doraemon," Ishihara plays Morgan, a member of the Snake family that wreaks havoc on the planet UMA, where Nobita and his friends arrive. This marks Ishihara's first time dubbing an anime in about 19 years, since the animated feature film "The Forest Gang" (2006), and when the recordings began, he struggled a bit, wondering, "What should I do...?" He said, "I won't know until I do it a few times!" and repeated various patterns. At first, he seemed confused by the unique acting style of anime, but he approached his acting in a serious manner, completely different from the expression he has when appearing on variety shows, constantly checking the finer nuances of his lines while communicating with the director, asking questions like, "Where is this place?" and "What kind of line is this?"
After finishing the dubbing, Ishihara said with a smile, "It was fun. I haven't done much voice acting, but I felt like I got a glimpse into the world of ' Doraemon'." She also requested, "But I do think it would be good if I had a few more lines. Please give me a better role next time (laughs)."
Ishihara, now 63 years old, said, "We are the generation that knows the early days of Doraemon," and expressed his excitement about appearing on the show, saying, "It's a great honor!" He also sent a message saying, "Let's enjoy New Year's Eve together, the last day of 2025!"
In this episode, Subaru Kimura, who plays Gian, plays Snake, the leader of a gang of thugs, and Tomokazu Seki Tomokazu, who plays Suneo, plays Tiger, a villain hired by Snake and has an eye for quality. Together with Ishihara's Morgan, they stand in the way of Nobita and Nobita in roles different from the usual Gian and Suneo.
The New Year's Eve one-hour special will also feature a giveaway. A total of 100 people will receive a rubber keychain (Year of the Horse) from the Kawasaki City Fujiko F. Fujio Museum. Details such as how to apply will be published on the official website.
