It has been announced that the collaborative concert held by the heavy metal band Seikima-II and the three-member female metal unit BABYMETAL at K Arena Yokohama (Nishi-ku, Yokohama) on August 30th and 31st will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in two parts, on December 14th and January 4th next year. A live report from Day 1 of the concert has also been released.
This collaborative performance was titled "Seikima-II VS BABYMETAL: The Devil Has Come and Babymetal" and was divided into two parts: DAY 1 "Encounter" and DAY 2 "Impact."
Seikima-II was the first to appear on the first day of the performance. All members except for Demon Kakka appeared on the upper stage, and when they descended the stairs, the support members joined them and took their positions. The roaring sound was the instrumental piece "Genesis," which could be called the prelude to Daikoku Misa. Demon Kakka emerged from a coffin carried to the center of the stage, and the performance transitioned to "1999 Secret Object," a warning to humanity.
In "Old Man Rock," featuring guitar solos by Staff Officer Luke Takamura and Magistrate Jail Ohashi, the band's rock and roll resonated with the devil's spirit that shows no signs of slowing down, even with an average age of over 106,100 years. Midway through "Adam's Apple," they unleashed "BABYMETAL Is DEAD" (a parody of "HEAVY METAL IS DEAD"), which could be interpreted as both a provocation to BABYMETAL and an agitation for the audience. In addition to "Kiss U Dead Or Alive," the lead track from their new CD, Daikyoten, they also performed "Next Is The Best!," "House of Wax Dolls," and "FIRE AFTER FIRE."
Next came BABYMETAL, opening with "BABYMETAL DEATH." The show unfolded from a solemn opening, with laser beams illuminating the darkness, to "Headbangya!!," which saw the crowd headbanging and creating a huge wave of excitement. Performances continued with "Metari!! (feat. Tom Morello)" and "Sunset Kiss (feat. Polyphia)," showcasing SU-METAL's exceptional vocal talent.
The final song was their major debut single, "Ijime, Dame, Zettai," released in January 2013. Just as they were about to reach the climax, Demon Kakka burst onto the upper stage and began screaming. BABYMETAL fought back, shouting "Devil, Dame, Zettai," and drove Demon Kakka, shouting, "Go away, evil spirits!"
WOWOW will broadcast and stream DAY 1 "Encounter" from 8:00 pm on December 14th, and DAY 2 "Impact" from 8:00 pm on January 4th next year on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand.
