It was revealed on December 2nd that the novel series "Demon's Crest" (KADOKAWA) by Reki Kawahara, known for the popular light novel series "Accel World" and "Sword Art Online(SAO)," will be adapted into an anime. A new illustration drawn by Yukiko Horiguchi, who is responsible for the illustrations of the original work, has been released.
The story depicts a death game set in a "New World" of mixed reality (MR), where the world of games and reality are fused together. In 2031, elementary school students who participated in a test play of the world's first full-dive VRMMO-RPG, "Actual Magic (AM)," lose consciousness after playing, and when they wake up, they find themselves in a "New World" where the setting of the game and reality are fused together. The first volume of the novel was released in November 2022, and the latest volume, volume 4, will be released on December 10th. It has also been adapted into a comic book.
