As part of the "Japan Zootopia Project" to commemorate the release of Disney Animation's "Zootopia 2" (directed by Jared Bush and others, released December 5th), Toho Cinemas has been "Zootopianized." A special site for "ZOOHO Cinemas,"a Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback: Flashback." The special site will be available for a limited time until December 18th.
The official ZOOHO Cinemas website is based on the concept of "What if ZOOHO Cinemas were in the world of Zootopia?" and includes information about the "Howl Theater," which is not a cheering screening but rather a place where applause, cheers, and howls are all allowed, as well as a page introducing the surprising concession stand menu, which uses plenty of carrots, a favorite food of Judy and the other rabbits. Poster visuals include "Snake Story 5," a parody of "Toy Story 5" named after Gary the snake that appears in "Zootopia 2," and "The Devil Wears Fluffy 2," a parody of "The Devil Wears Prada 2."
The screening schedule page lists special screening patterns unique to theaters frequented by Zootopia's animals, such as screenings with a stage greeting from Gazelle and late shows for nocturnal creatures. Special "ZOOHO Cinemas"-themed decorations will be displayed at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), TOHO Cinemas Shibuya (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), and TOHO Cinemas Namba (Chuo-ku, Osaka).
A special screen, "Zootopia Theater," will open on December 5th at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya and seven other theaters in five cities across the country. Special seats in the theater will be printed with 12 characters, including Judy, Nick, Gary, Nibbles, and Paubert. If you watch "Zootopia 2" at the "Zootopia Theater," you will receive a sticker featuring Judy and Nick as a limited-edition gift. Before the main screening, a special greeting video will be screened featuring the Japanese voice actors, Ueto Aya, who plays Judy, Toshiyuki Morikawa, who plays Nick, and Hiro Shimono, who plays Gary. The price is the regular ticket price plus 200 yen.
This film is the sequel to "Zootopia," which was released in 2016. The previous film, "Zootopia," was set in Zootopia, a world where animals live in a high-tech civilized society like humans. It depicted Judy meeting Nick and overcoming many challenges together as she grows into a fine police officer. It was the first Disney animation film since "Frozen" to surpass $1 billion in global box office revenue. It was also a huge hit in Japan, grossing over 7.6 billion yen.
In the sequel, Nick, who has successfully graduated from the police academy and become a police officer, and Judy, the first rabbit police officer to do her job, team up again and embark on an epic adventure. A new character, Gary the snake, also appears.
